This is the official website of the South African composer Keith Moss. After winning the SAMRO Overseas Scholarship in 2010 Keith firmly established himself as a leading exponent of new music in the country. Concentrating on projects like the Paz Consort he also championed the works of other young composers. His output ranges from chamber to orchestral works some of which have drawn the attention of other competitions and commissioners.
In 2007 Keith studied with renowned composer Péter Louis van Dijk and obtained a Masters degree from Rhodes University. In 2010 he won the prestigious SAMRO scholarship and studied further in the United Kingdom at the Royal College of Music, the Royal Northern College, University of Cardiff and presented at the Guildhall school of Music.
As a conductor Keith directed the Paz Consort for 7 years premiering the works of young South African composers. This later led to the directorship of music for the Cool Capital Biennale 2014 where he established the Capital Chamber Orchestras as well as the Capital Symphony Orchestra
Arranging requests have ranged from large orchestral scores and chamber pieces to lighter music items for large shows and recordings. Keith has worked on various long term projects like Afrikaans is Groot, Gospel Skouspel, The University of Pretoria and the University of the Freestate
